The bridge across the Smotrych River connects the Old Town and the New Plan. The bridge project was designed in 1864 by architect Alexander Peske. The bridge had been built for almost 10 years (1864-1874). It stands on 6 stone supports. The bridge is 136 m long and 38 m high. The bridge was severely damaged during World War II. It was restored in 1947-1949. In 2005-2006 it was reconstructed.
